Born 46 years ago as the middle child in a family of four siblings (yes, that classic "forgotten middle child" trope, but this time in real life), Alfons was raised in a small mountain village tucked away in the Bavarian Alps. While others were learning to ride bikes on flat streets, Alfons was mastering the art of scaling steep slopes just to get to school, which might explain his enduring love for a good challenge.
 

Before settling into what some might call a “respectable” career in digital marketing, Alfons embraced a wonderfully chaotic job history that reads like a bucket list of unconventional work experiences. From digging graves and bouncing rowdy club-goers, to slinging drinks as a barkeeper and enticing crowds as a barker, he’s seen and done it all. And then, for reasons even he can’t fully explain, he found himself in the world of marketing, where he wrangled data instead of rowdy patrons and clients instead of unruly crowds.

 

In 2022, Alfons took another big leap—this time across the Atlantic—leaving behind his beloved Germany and Switzerland to make a new home in the American Midwest. The reason? Love, of course! After meeting his pandemic partner, now husband, he packed his bags and embraced life in the heartland of the USA, trading Alpine views for cornfields and cows.

 

Now navigating the daily ups and downs of middle-aged, middle-class, gay, overweight, strength-sport-obsessed, married life, Alfons has found an unexpected outlet for his midlife crisis: stand-up comedy. It's cheaper than therapy and funnier than screaming into the void, after all! Whether he's riffing on the absurdities of corporate life or sharing the trials of being married to someone who thinks “outdoor adventures” are a good idea, Alfons has a knack for turning everyday struggles into laugh-out-loud material.

 

Alfons has performed his unique brand of comedy in places as far-flung as Germany, Iceland, the Midwest, and California, earning laughs from audiences who relate to the wild ride that is modern life. Whether it’s heavyweights in the gym or heavy emotional baggage, Alfons tackles it all with humor and heart.
